While the trailer features multiple shots of a gun, it's unlikely Maddy has murderous intentions against Cassie, though the situation is likely to get violent. Bolstered by a tour de force performance by Zendya, the episode was a heart-wrenching reminder of the debilitating reality of drug addiction. After Rue's mother tries to stage an intervention and take her daughter back to rehab, Rue suffers a breakdown and decides to run from her family and eventually the police in a nail-biting chase across town as Rue attempts to seek refugee with numerous friends, Fez and Laurie, trying to get her next fix. Season 2, Episode 5, was one of Euphoria's most emotional and visceral episodes yet. In the trailer, Maddy is plotting revenge against her best friend for sleeping with her ex, saying she might " actually want to murder" Cassie, while she has " a few ideas" for Nate. Next week's episode is set to pick up in the fallout of Rue's explosive actions.
